Holiday hiatus starts early

The roadsters are getting an early start on the Christmas holidays.

With four inches of snow and ice already on the road hockey courts with more forecast for Sunday, and no thaw in sight, Sunday's game has been cancelled.

"The courts are so frozen, it would take a superhuman effort to get them playable," said founding father, Living Legend, after a tour of the league's longtime home. "Another storm is due Sunday, so it's probably best we just declare an early start to the holiday hiatus and hope Mother Nature takes care of all the hard labor in the next couple of weeks."

The season will resume Jan. 4, with the annual Shrimp Ring Bowl, the highlight of Sunday Morning Road Hockey's social calendar.

Legend,

There was a game a couple weekends ago.

It was Kid, Cowboy, Lak and Twizzler vs. Doo, Scooby, Nibs and Gump with the old guys winning going away. Then Doo got angry. The End.

Good one Gump! Maybe Sundin can get into game shape by shovelling off our court. I know I got my Sunday exercise today courtesy of the snow shovel.

Hope everyone enjoys the White Christmas and has a great holiday season. No promises but I will try to make the shrimp ring bowl.

BTW, was there even a game last week? I was sick with a nasty cold.

I heard Sundin signed today, maybe I'll see if I can get him out for the Shrimp Ring so he can get back into game shape. I'd ask Sami Salo, but his mom won't let him play contact sports anymore. Have a great Christmas everyone!

A sage decision no doubt.
