S'no go

Cowboy Bill wasn't going to let a surprise snowstorm keep him from Sunday's game. Too bad there wasn't a game.

For the first time this season, a game was scuttled by winter weather when only three intrepid roadsters braved the heavy wet snow that plummeted relentlessly from the sky even as professional forecasters said it should be raining. But Cowboy Bill, Lak Attack and the Living Legend weren't going to let that stop them.

So they shoveled. And when the snow covered the areas they'd just finished shoveling, they shoveled some more. In fact, they shoveled so much, when they finished shoveling the entire court, they were too exhausted to actually get much game.

"It's a pretty snowy day," said Cowboy Bill, taking a break from his court cleaning duties. "I was hoping we'd have a few more guys."

Last year, three games were lost to inclement conditions, stalling the season and dispiriting the roadsters. This season, relentless rain through the opening weeks ruined a few pairs of shoes, but sunny weather the past two weeks had given players reason for optimism.

"This is kinda how last year started, the first big dump and then after that it seemed every second week we got snow or not enough guys coming out," said Cowboy Bill. "It's our first snow out of the year. Hopefully it's not an indication of the rest of the weeks throughout the year."

Legend and Gump - any updates on the story?

Let me start...

The idea of Karma is what you generously put forward comes back as a reward later on or vice versa.

Cowboy Bill's efforts last week in the snow were rewarded a dozen or so times over this week when the grinding forward came up with a goal scoring effort that would have made Maurice Richard smile...that's right Comboy had about a dozen goals in the first game alone.

I was awesome today. No one, and I mean NO ONE has my surefootedness ... except maybe Lak.

That video brought a tear to my eye...not because it was sad, but because it reminded me of how much my back hurt after shoveling last year. Cowboy, Legend, Lak, you three are what Road Hockey is all about...sorry I missed out, would have traded a wicked Christmas Party hangover for appeasing the road hockey gods any day! See you all next week.

Go Bills!!!!

hey who was that playing net?! i don't like the competition...
totally rad video Legend. you are living up to your name.
Very sorry i did not make it out, although i guess it was for the best. I planned to, and woke up at 11 o'clock. doh.
I will try to make it out next week, but we are having an open house that day; so if there is too much to get ready, i won't be there.

Legend, the footage with the cam was awesome. I can't wait to have live footage of a game with it. And I am sore from all that shoveling.
