Pfg back in sty

Bad news for Pig Farming Goalie's season as recently medical recommendations call for him to refrain from most sports that required 'extensive bending or potential rotating on the knee' for upwards of six months. A despondent PFG told reporters later that the news was unexpected, given his knee's recent improvements.

"I felt I could haf played last weekend, but decided to leave it one more week. Now I being told to leave it entirely. I am not happy at all."

And given that for most of January and March he will be out of the country, it doesn't look likely he would be able to play much anyways, should his knee heal earlier than expected.

"My Annus Horribilus for Hockey" stated PFG.

now wait a second PFG, you Michael Jackson wannabe, the last post was posted by paulone, not me. With all of you inactivity, perhaps your name should Pretty Flabby Goalie! Nah,nah, nah...

Holy crap. Unabomber, take you and your juvenile freak closet bum buddy Lobsterboy and get off post. tell him to take his stinky silver sequin glove with him too.

I dunno man...first PFG wants to "try out his knee[s]" when he goes out with Elvis....now this revelation you want to have "sleep-overs" with Kid...considering Elvis & Kid's mom....this is starting to look like one big love triangle.

Non-Goalies are starting to invade this site. Our gay little chat room has been busted.

This will be my last post in this area, but, before I sign off, I'd like to say that I've always had a thing for the Kid (in a Micheal Jackson way).

I'm afraid to tell the people close to me. Can the other goalies give me advice about telling family, friends and co-workers about my forbidden love?

PFG: "i want to go out with Elvis"

Reeeeally?

Posted by: Unabomber at December 8, 2003 01:58 AM

Hardest shot- Wink
Weirdest shot- the dreaded Living Legend Backhand
Most annoying guy to score on me--Newguy or Elvis
Best scorer- Kid, Lak
Biggest goalie ego-Huamn Pylon, then PFG

Your right, I can't belive it.

Posted by: Newguy at December 5, 2003 02:20 AM

get off post living legend! you are right about one thing, you are no goalie.

hardest slapshot--Wink, or Lak (from two years ago i might add). i find their shot hardest to follow.
hardest to defend against--gump, cause he doesn't know what he is going to do either
best cherry picker--Kid
best one timer--Living Legend. I know! i can't believe it either but i haf watched him do it time and again, both for and against me
best emotional player--elvis, paul one, or colonel. slag him all you want, he got five goals in one shift...
best goalie--pfg. ah cmon, don't be bitter...

Hardest Shot: - Unabomber
Best One on One: - Kid
Smartest Passer: - Wink (rarely a givaway)
Breakaway artist: - Kid
Best Team player: - Paul One
Best on the Boards: - Elvis
Best Defender(if the court is dry): - Beetleboy

Posted by: Newguy at December 4, 2003 06:08 PM

Hardest shot? Probably Unabomber. His control on the slap is what really impresses me.

Hardest to defend? Depends on the circumstance.
In tight - Rudy
On a breakaway - Kid or Elvis
With one guy backchecking - Lak
Just standing around - Bird

The problem with that list is, although they're hard to defend, you at least can somewhat expect what is coming. What's really tough to stop is the unexpected shot or deke from the other guys.

How about your lists?

I'm not a goalie, nor do I pretend to be one...

Gentlemen! We have managed to hijack this bulletin board and make it our own private goalie chat room!

Yes, the defence is a bit better, but like PFG can attest to, sometimes it is so bad. Not ot rehash, but like last weekend, I could not believe how many saves that Ottoman did before it was finally batted in.

My biggest frustration is that selfish players fail to clear the ball or dump it down when they can when it is in our own end. The only player who does this is Wink.

Who do you think has the hardest shot?
Who is the hardest to defend against?

Posted by: lobsterboy at December 4, 2003 12:41 PM

It varies from game to game. Sometimes the defence is great, othertimes not so great.

Overall, I think the quality of play has gone way up, with the number of better players coming out.

Good luck with rehabbing your knee. Definitely don't rush it, as re-injuring it can be really bad. Also, this is just for fun, and unfortunately, it doesn't pay the bills.

If you can make it out, I'll have a beer there for ya.

i may come out to watch, but it's unlikely i can play. i want to go out with Elvis and practice on my knee to see what i think i can get away with before i play a game. i can't afford to reinjure my knee, or worse, tear the ACL completely. that would put a pretty big kink in my plans.
as for this being a goalie only comment post, maybe that's good. we can bitch about horrid defensive play. Although i'd like to say in its defense, no pun intended, that i think it has become better in the last couple of years. Lobsterboy would be able to attest to that more than me, but when i first started playing, i couldn't believe how much i felt i was hung out to dry. part of it was adjusting to a three player format, but really, part of it was not our faults at all. i'd like to think that my tantrums over the last two years have helped improve the defensive aspect of the game, as i have no problem at all letting players know when they have been lazy complacent slackers.
good luck if i don't see you this weekend ottoman...

Posted by: pfg at December 3, 2003 02:55 PM

Is this post somehow "goalie comment only"?

PFG, are you going to be out this weekend?
Lobster, are you going to be? (I don't want the colonel to have another excuse if his team loses)

Posted by: ottoman at December 3, 2003 09:46 AM

i was wondering when you would make stupid comment about my latin, loobsterboy. i'm surprised you were able to wait this long.

Posted by: pfg at December 2, 2003 05:48 PM

Ottoman, it is your fellow netminder here. The language is Latin, but I believe it should be written as Horrible Anus, which refers to PFG personality.

I agree I hope he comes back so that we can shock and awe him with our goaltending wits, style and wonderful personalities.

As for the Colonel, quel imbecile!

Posted by: lobsterboy at December 2, 2003 01:44 PM

"My Annus Horribilus for Hockey"

I don't know what language that is, but, it just doesn't sound right.

That's bad news though. Hopefully the doc is wrong and you'll be back sooner than later.
